Lancaster Mediation Center Updates Name to Conflict Resolution Services

Lancaster Mediation Center has changed its name to Conflict Resolution Services.  The new name will better reflect the range of services we provide and the variety of communities we serve. Our new logo is a graphic representation of parties coming together to collaborate on problem solving.

The new name was chosen following more than a year of assessing the community’s needs through surveys with the many groups that have supported us through the years.  To mark this occasion we are holding a celebration event at Tellus360 on March 25th from 5-7:30 p.m.  The event is free to the public and includes appetizers, a cash bar and speakers.

“We are proud of the service provided the community by the Lancaster Mediation Center over the last 30 years, and grateful to the countless volunteers dedicated to its mission,” Mila Pilz, Executive Director, said.  “We anticipate that under our new name we will reach an even larger group of people with a broader menu of services, including training, facilitation, and an expanded range of types of mediations.”

Mediation is a dispute resolution method in which a neutral third party helps disputants reach a mutually acceptable solution. Mediation services include a range of issues including custody/divorce disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, business transactions and neighborhood disputes.   Conflict Resolution Services can assist individuals regardless of ability to pay. Reductions or waivers of fees are determined by staff on a case-by-case basis.  Training is available for individuals and groups interested in providing conflict resolution services in the community, the workplace or other venues. Training prepares individuals to handle disputes and to help prevent conflicts from arising. Facilitation is used in group settings to increase collaboration and productivity.

Conflict Resolution Services is located on the first floor of the Lancaster County courthouse.  The office welcomes people to visit us or phone us to obtain information on how we might be of service.  Businesses, organizations, and other service organizations are encouraged to contact us as well.  CRS currently works with clients referred to us by, among other, attorneys, judges, police, local colleges and universities, and law enforcement officers.

Conflict Resolution Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with more than 30 years of providing affordable mediation services, high quality training and facilitation to the community. Visit www.conflictservicespa.org for rates and more information.
